Model 1013 Esch Pine Straw Baler

The Esch Pine Straw Baler model 1013 is an inline baler, picking up pine straw within the pine straw windrows. With a width of 5 feet 3 inches, the baler operates easily between most planted rows of pine trees. The durable and wide tine unit efficiently guides the pine straw into the packing and baling unit which has a self-feeding baling twine dispenser and New Holland type knotters. The proprietary bale feeder mechanism assures that your bales will remain consistent in size and weight, which are influenced by the ground speed (which seems to work best with a hydrostatic driven tractor) of the tractor and the consistency of the supply of the pine straw while preventing jams. Tires are 6 ply agricultural, the size is 6.70 - 15SL. The bale chamber has slides that support the plunger as it moves. They are hardened steel that is impregnated with oil, so they self lubricant for longer life and less wear. The plunger does not have knives which would cut the straw. This enables the baler to make a more attractive bale and allows more of the pine straw to go out in the bale rather than being lost due to cutting on one side of the bale.
The tractor should have a minimum of 20 hp at the Power Take Off (PTO).

The Pine Baler easily works between the pine tree windrows with lots of room to spare. It's steady, rugged and dependably built, easily and quickly producing consistent pine straw bales.

When making sharp turns it is advised to discontinue PTO operation. When the baler approaches the next windrow and is getting lined up, the PTO can be reengaged.

Jerry Holder of Holder Farms Sales and Service, has better knowledge than anyone on how the Esch Pine Straw Baler came to be and why it’s the investment any Pine Straw Producer should consider adding to their production line.
